HOYO DE MONTERREY

Founded in 1865 by José Gener, Hoyo de Monterrey is considered one of Havana’s oldest cigar brands. The word “Hoyo” refers to sloping ground that helps with drainage, making it ideal for tobacco cultivation. In 1860, Gener leased what is regarded as one of the finest tobacco estates in the world – the Hoyo de Monterrey plantation in San Juan y Martínez, located in Cuba’s famed Vuelta Abajo region. In 1884, he named the cigar brand after this estate. The boxes are adorned with 18 gold medals, symbolizing awards the brand has won at international exhibitions.
Hoyo de Monterrey cigars are known for their distinctive delicate aroma, making them especially suitable for beginners or occasional smokers.
